Oil Field Production Chemicals

November 2022

The price of crude oil has finally hit the $100 mark and continues to rise; hence there is a need to get maximum value from our oilwells by recording as much production per day as possible. The major challenge to this is well production issues which occur due to fluid changes in the well during processing. The amount of crude oil we have available to sell daily is determined by production rates (volume) and unpredictable changes to the nature of the produced fluids (quality). Therefore, it is important that a range of chemical additives are available for correcting these issues. Modern production methods require that the quality and quantity of crude oils be improved with oilfield production chemicals while paying attention to the environmental limitations.

There are various types of oilfield production chemicals with different targeted functions but Nordic Degrees’ unified production chemical technologies and services provide best in class benefits and assurances to the oil and gas industry in partnership with Versalis S.p.A.

Oilfield Production Chemical List

Our Production Chemicals include but not limited to:

  • Demulsifies to break emulsions (water in oil). When crude is produced water is typically produced as well and this water must be separated from the crude prior to refining to prevent corrosion issues.
  • Corrosion Inhibitors to prevent pipes from corroding by applying into fluids passing through pipes.
  • Paraffin Inhibitors to protect the wellbore, production tree, and subsea pipelines/flowlines from plugging. Paraffins usually occur as wax like substances.
  • Biocides to control bacteria and other harmful organisms which degrade the crude oil and aid corrosion.
  • Defoamers control oil foam in separators; minimizing the amount of oil that goes into the gas stream.
